Our story

From our first gelateria to a workshop of our own

It started in 2007, when our family opened its first business in Germany: a gelato production kitchen and several gelaterias of our own. A passion for proper Italian gelato turned into a craft, and over nearly two decades that craft earned us a loyal following.

At the end of 2025 we closed that chapter and began a new one. With Coolbreak we have brought everything we learned to Switzerland: in Oberentfelden, in the canton of Aargau, we now make fresh gelato by hand, in small batches, to the recipes we have spent years perfecting.

Coolbreak stands for "Next Gen": the next generation of our family is carrying the craft forward — keeping everything we have learned, and bringing ideas of our own.

  1. 2007

    Our family's first business opens in Germany — a gelato production kitchen and several gelaterias of our own.

  2. 2025

    We close the German chapter after almost twenty years behind the gelato counter.

  3. 2026

    A fresh start in Switzerland: Coolbreak, with our own production kitchen in Oberentfelden AG.
